Experience is just as memories; they’re things you may never forget. Whether it may be a good or bad experience is a big part of life. Also, its opinion based so it makes I all the better to have experience in a little of everything. Let’s just say food becomes the topic of discussion, because food is an everyday experience. In certain regions food is a bigger deal than in others. Take for example the south; we have a “country-like” style of eating. Our famous ultra-greasy chicken and extra saucy barbeque are some southern favorites along with others. However, I then had a chance to try “Brenda’s BBQ” which was no ordinary BBQ.
Just on a vision test you might would have looked from the outside and turn your nose. Honestly, I can’t blame you because this was my initial reaction. I thought maybe my father had become obsessed with BBQ, because he insisted that this was the place. Afterwards, I put my pride aside and gave this small country shack a chance. However, upon arrival I caught a glance of the food prices. After seeing those prices, I then again wanted to leave again. I decided to stay only because the BBQ shack was way across town. At this point I’m just hungry and just about anything will do.
I was finally face to face with the cashier after a 10 minute or so wait. I could smell how wonderful the food smelled; it immediately made my mouth water. This made me feel as it was worth the earlier hardship I had with the appearance. My service there was extraordinary. I was welcomed with a warm smile and eye contact. You can feel the sincerity they had when serving you. Then just moments later I heard,”205…205” that was my food number. I have never been so excited to eat in my life. I rushed to the car with no hesitation and started to eat. Let me tell you the food completely lived up to the hype. The BBQ chicken was fall off the bone tender and seasoned to a tee. Their homemade BBQ sauce tops it off with its tangy sweet flavor. I was definitely satisfied with my food and service.
Lastly, the atmosphere was absolutely great there. Being that it was on a rougher part of town, I was completely shocked at this. However, it was a family oriented surrounding community that had much respect for this BBQ shack. Another shocking fact was that the regular customers were diverse. I can honestly agree with them and saying good food is worth coming out of your comfort zone. I was blown away at how something so small, can have such a huge impact on a wide range of people.
In closing, our experiences help mold the person you become or helps see what we like. The more you experience the more you become open to life. If I had left “Brenda’s BBQ” off a vision test then I would have missed out; on good food, service, and atmosphere. You can take from my food experience that great things can come in small packages.
